Petrich - "Rupite"

Rupite area is one cultivated spot about 10 km northeast
by Petrich, with beautiful flora and fauna, some of which are included in
Red Book of Bulgaria. Located on the right bank of the Struma River.
The place has gained widespread popularity thanks to the most famous Bulgarian
prophet Vangelia Gushterova - Vanga (3.10.1911 - 11.08.1996 on).
In 1992 she built a temple Memorial "St. Petka Bulgarian "
became a place of pilgrimage for thousands of people.
Near the temple springs hot mineral water at 78 0C.
These results contribute to the construction of a rehabilitation center, dealing with people
with cardiovascular diseases, diseases of the locomotory and nervous
system.
Another landmark rising here on the west elevation Kojuh, which is
part of the extinct volcano crater which is where the temple is available today.
In the southwestern foot of Kojuh are the ruins of the ancient city of Petra
founded in the last quarter of the fourth century BC
